WHAT'S A SKETCHBOOK?
On this site, when we refer to the term "sketchbook", it isn't the actual artist's sketchbook with original artwork. The term "sketchbook", in recent years, has also been applied to an artist's publication that showcases reproductions of their drawings, sketches, and preliminary works. At comic book conventions, artists started to offer these for sale to give fans a glance at the unfinished artwork that might never have been seen and to also offer a low cost item for sale for those fans that can not afford original artwork. Over the years, sketchbooks have been created in many sizes and degrees of professionalism. Some now feature finished works, hard cover editions, and have, essentially, become more of an art book. Therefore, I'm including art books here as well.
WHAT THIS SITE IS.....The goal of this site is to give a visual reference for the many sketchbooks and art books related to comic book artists, illustrators, and maybe even some fine artists as well.
WHAT THIS SITE IS NOT....
This site is NOT a list of items for sale by me. You can find the sketchbooks either for sale by the artist at comic book conventions, on eBay, or at Stuart Ng's Books or Bud Plant's Books. The art books you will probably find on Amazon or eBay.
This site is NOT a place to download PDFs of the books. Buy the original. Support the artist or publisher. Build your own physical tactile library and always have them there to enjoy!
